Sri Lanka Team Squad & Players List For ICC Champions Trophy 2017 –
Sri Lanka one of the sides who are entering the tournament with least
experience players. World Cup has been a happy hunting for Sri Lankans
but ICC Champions Trophy is one tournament where Sri Lanka have failed
play to their very best. Excluding 2001, where India and Sri Lanka were
declared co-winners, Sri Lanka has never been to the finals of this
tournament. Two-time semi-finalist, Sri Lanka are placed in group B with
two other Asian sides India and Pakistan and South Africa. Sri Lanka
will start their campaign from 3rd June against South Africa at The Oval in England.

the under construction sides who is searching for their top playing 11.
Legends like Mahela Jayawardene, Dilshan, Sangakkara, Muralitharan
retired in last few years and left the Sri Lankan cricket on the
shoulders of young players. These young players have fared well in Tests
but are not up to the mark in limited overs cricket. They have lost to
good teams like Australia, England and South Africa recently. So they
need to regroup and find some match winners in themselves. Sri Lanka
will be highly dependent on their young guns like Dickwella, Mendis,
Gunaratne and Perera. The experience of Mathews and Herath will surely
help Sri Lanka. Mathews will lead the side with Rangana Herath as Vice
Captain.
